Parc de la Ciutadella is an idyllic park near the centre of Barcelona, east of the Ciutat Vella. The park covers 70 acres and is popular with both tourists and locals not ony for its greenery and tranquility but also for walking, cycling, jogging, picnics and boating. It is also a good outlet for families as there is a designated area for children in the upper area of the park.
On the grounds are several attractions including Barcelona Zoo, the Parliament of Catalonia, a lake, a huge fountain designed by Josep Fontsére and Antoni Gaudi and several important art and cultural museums including the Museu Nacional d’Art Modern in the Parliament building, and also the geological and zoological museums.

Park de La Ciutadella is open to visitors from 10 a.m. till dusk.
Entrance to the Park is Free.
